INTRODUCTION

Economics & Sociology is a bi-annual international scholarly journal published by Centre of Sociological Research and Foundation of International Studies, Ukraine dedicated to advancing socio-economic analysis of societies and economy, institutions and organizations, social groups, networks and relationships. We welcome articles written by professional scholars and practitioners in economic philosophy, political science, history, sociology and business.

The social economy is an entrepreneurial, not for profit sector that seeks to enhance the social, economic and environmental conditions of communities. Social economy enterprises are a component of the social economy that are run like businesses, producing goods and services for the market economy, but manage their operations and redirect their surpluses in pursuit of social and environmental goals

Increasing economic interaction, allied to the social and political changes evident in many parts of the world, especially in the enlarging European Union and associated countries, has created a need for more sophisticated perception of the social, political and cultural environments, which govern our societies. The Journal, combined with interdisciplinary contributions on international developments in social economics, makes a genuinely valuable input into current comprehension of the subject and the growth of new ideas.

Topics of interest for the above area include, but are not limited to, the following:

·          Interdisciplinary Approach to Economics and Sociology

·          Recent Issues in Economic Development

·          Recent Issues in Sociological Research

The journal serves as a forum for the exchange of information and views between academics and practitioners, NGOs and the community, data producers and users.

This issue includes 14 articles from 18 authors from Ukrainian, Polish, Lithuanian and Belgian academic establishments and non-governmental organizations. In the Journal, different aspects of developing economies and sociology are considered, namely business innovations and regional development; labour market and migration issues in the globalization context; industry and sustainable development in selected European countries.
